Compliance Review Process - FAQ

This article details frequently asked questions based on the Compliance Review process a vendor goes through with our Compliance Team. Please keep in mind that each offer is different, even from the same vendor, so certain areas may or may not be applicable to your offer. 


You will submit your offer for review through the Onboarding Form provided by your Business Development Manager. If we receive all of the information requested in a timely fashion, we expect a product review to take place with 2-4 business days. This includes reviewing scripts and providing feedback, reviewing any changes after they have been made by the vendor, providing label/COA review feedback, ensuring our compliance and integration checks are in place before we give the final approval for the offer to go Live. The Compliance Team will send the Business Development Manager assigned to your offer the requested changes needed from you. As soon as the updates have been made please send your Business Development Manager a message letting them know. 

 

BuyGoods Banned Product List

Please make sure you reference our Banned Product List to ensure your offer does not fall into one of the categories. 

 

Fulfillment Agreement:

This is required for all physical products sold on BuyGoods. We are looking for a letter or confirmation from the Fulfillment House confirming inventory and ability to ship. You can access a list of Fulfillment Houses we work with here. If you do not see your Fulfillment House listed, please reach out to your Business Development Manager to discuss further. 

 

Membership Area Access: 

Please create and share with us login information to any only membership area the customer gets access to as part of your offer. 

  

COA and Label Specifications (Supplements)

Copies of the Certificate of Analysis and supplement label in PDF format are required for supplement submissions. Compliance can NOT complete their review without these two key points. 

COAs need to contain the list of ingredients that match your label along with the unit of measurements. We are looking for a test that was performed on the product that confirms the live/active ingredients in the product have been tested and match what is on the label's live/active ingredients list. This screenshot shows an example of what we are looking for. 

Labels must clearly show the entirety  of the label, including name and nutrition/ingredients. This will be matched to what the COA says is in the product. 

Please let us know if your label is from Ship Offers. You can either provide the Ship Offers approval letter showing that an FDA review has already been conducted on the label or we can reach out to Ship Offers directly for you.

Testimonials

We need you to reply to the comment to confirm that all testimonials are true and can be verified upon request. If you cannot confirm that then the testimonials will need to be removed. 


Disclaimers 

For the BuyGoods footer requirement that uses account numbers, your account will not be set up until we have moved to tech integrations so tech will give you your account number as soon as compliance has approved your offer to move to tech integration. 

  • Remove (another platform) disclaimers and mentions.
  • Add this BuyGoods disclaimer in every footer of your sales pages.

A phone number must be listed for your customers to contact if they have any questions or concerns about their order. If you do not have a phone number for customer support, you can list ours at (302) 200-3480

Terms & Conditions (Include Anti-Spam Policy)

This is a requirement. If you do not have an Anti-Spam Policy, here are two options that you can use. 


Anti-Spam Policy- Option 1

Anti-Spam Policy- Option 2

"Anti-Spam Policy: In the context of electronic messaging, spam refers to unsolicited, bulk or indiscriminate messages, typically sent for a commercial purpose. We provide a facility that enables users to send email messages / private messages to others. Users must not use this facility to send unsolicited, bulk, or indiscriminate messages, whether or not for commercial purposes. Receipt of unwanted messages from our company: In the unlikely event that you receive any message from us or sent using our systems that may be considered to be spam, please contact us by using the details below and the matter will be investigated."


Warranty/GuaranteeReturn/Refund Policy 

BuyGoods has a standard 60 day return policy for all offers. We can not accept warranty for products longer than 60 days without CRO approval. Please make sure this states who is responsible for shipping costs on returns. The policy needs to include the return address, returning instructions, a money back guarantee, a support email, and a support phone number. 

Please be sure to check for seals on the sales pages and policy mentions in links. All must match before approval. 

Please provide the return address, returning instructions, and support email and phone number to your Business Development Manager to pass along to our Customer Support Team as well. If you have any further questions, please contact your BDM. 

 

Product Images

Digital products should not have a CD or a regular book. They should clearly show that the offer will be digitally delivered. There should be no physical mock-ups unless the customer is getting a physical product. 


Buy Buttons + Price Clarity

All Buy Buttons should have the price clearly displayed above the button or product image.

PayPal: Because we integrate PayPal on some funnels at our discretion. Please remove the PayPal logo if it's not pertinent to your offer.

Bundle and Multiple quantity options are required to list the total price that the customer is paying. Per unit, pricing can also be shown as long as the total price is clearly stated as well. 

   

Upsell and Downsells 

The description of the product and accompanying image must be clear for the customer following the same guidelines as previously stated. 

It needs to be clear that the customer is adding this product to their order with the Buy Buttons. For example “Yes, add this product to my order”.

A "No Thank You" button must be clearly displayed giving the customer the option to refuse the upsell and continue on through the funnel.

  


Other Information for Compliance Reviews

 

Free Trials or Free + Shipping

Free trials are banned on BuyGoods. We do not take free trials for free plus shipping offers. The minimum price we accept is $4.99. 

 

Subscriptions and Recurring 

Subscriptions are only allowed for physical products like supplements. However, no pre-ticked checkboxes are allowed on any funnel. It must clearly be stated that they are choosing to opt-in to a subscription or recurring payment and where and when to cancel billing. We do not accept subscriptions for physical products like gadgets. We do not accept subscriptions for digital courses or offerings.


Logos

No promotional logos from news sites are permitted unless verified.

Ex) “As seen on CNN, Forbes” etc. 

     

References

Source links must work. If quoting Harvard, MIT, or similarly recognizable institutions or using lots of studies and references, you must include the source links.

  

Words/phrases are NOT allowed in copy.

  • Profanity
  • Mentions of curing the following:
    • Diabetes (we accept Diabetes Type II)
    • Cancer
    • Alzheimer’s
    • Heart attack
    • AIDS
    • Herpes
    • Coronavirus, COVID-19, etc
  • Cures for diseases where there is no official cure recognized.
  • Words such as reverse, cure, disappear, delete, or eliminate. 
    • You may substitute words such as use treat, deal, etc.
  • Instant(ly), magical, etc. Such as "magically lose weight overnight". You cannot promise instant, magical, overnight solutions
  • Permanent(ly), forever, etc. You cannot promise permanent solutions.
  • Days, weeks. Any results can not be claimed in less than a month and you cannot promise results in an exact timeframe. 
  • Exercise and Diet****** (for weight loss offers)
  • You cannot say that the customer will lose weight without having to exercise or diet.
  • Any results said to be caused by the offer must be worded carefully

A suggested disclaimer to always add in:

  • The results experienced are not typical consumer results and results may vary.
